We are excited to announce that the Following courses will lead you to satisfying the advanced requirements of the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).

Classes are held twice a week, day classes will be on Tuesdays and evening classes will be on Thursdays. |
Some classes will be on Saturday & Sunday. Will be announced. |
Courses are subject to change due to staying in compliance with NCBTMB Licensing Laws and Regulations.
Application for the National Exam will be done utilizing the “Candidate Portfolio Handbook” by the NCBTMB.

The 253 Hour Advanced Bodywork Program
Advanced Anatomy (48 Hours)
An in-depth, integrative approach to histology, systemic anatomy, physiology, kinesiology of the body systems that will help the student to discover new approaches to working with the human body in both normal healthy conditions and in the presence of disease and pathological conditions.

Advanced Pathology (40 Hours)
This course teaches the massage therapist about different pathologies that may be encountered in their practice. Pathologies will be discussed and studied bringing the student to an understanding to know when massage is indicated or contraindicated for each related pathology.

Heated Stone Massage (8 Hours)
A technique whereby hot stones are applied strategically on the surface of the body to provide deep heat while the therapist uses stones to administer massage providing deep relaxation and therapeutic results. The use of cold stones as well as the use of stones versus the use of crystals will also be addressed. Contraindications will be discussed and addressed. Set up procedures, set up material, and cleanup will be discussed in detail.

Intergrated Hollistic Massage – (64 Hours)
Learn various massage techniques and understand when is the most effective time to use them. Included in this sequence of hours will be Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release and Deep Tissue Massage. Introduction to Craniosacral Therapy and the study of Active, Passive, and Active Resisted Movement will also be addressed. You will learn the importance of encouraging proper posture in your clients. The use of hot/cold packs and water therapy will be addressed in detail and proper application of each will be discussed. You will come to an understanding on how important it is to get your clients to understand the importance of proper Nutrition and Supplements when one is in a state of stress, pain or dysfunction. By knowing the power of the mind you will understand how to use visualization as an important tool for therapists. You will also be able to suggest different ways for clients to see themselves and why that may be important. Finally you will study and work with the bodies energetic centers. This course will focus on common dysfunctions of the body and how we as therapists can blend various types of work to facilitate in bringing the client back into balance.

Chair Massage – (7 Hours)
Chair Massage is an effective way to market yourself and educate the public about massage. Learn a routine that you can easily alter and make your own unique routine.
This course explains how to use the massage chair, to assure correct body positioning for the client as well as correct posture for the therapist.

Aromatherapy and Bodywork – (12 Hours)
Discover ways to enhance your bodywork and make it more effective by using the essential oils. Indications and contraindications will be discussed.

Pregnancy Massage (12 Hours)
This course will address the changes that a woman goes thru physiologically, structurally, psychologically, and emotionally during pregnancy. Some of the common ailments that accompany pregnancy may include nausea, nervousness, hip pain, foot and leg cramps, swollen ankles, stiffness in upper back/neck/ shoulder region, and difficulties in breathing.
Massage techniques will be shown and demonstrated that will help the conditions listed above and more. Contraindications will be discussed. Proper bolstering and body position on the table will be discussed and addressed.

Documentation, Charting and Postural Assessment (14 Hours)
This course shows the different ways to document sessions and progress of the client. Includes the use of SOAP notes, why we document and important things to document. Students will learn to do a visual assessment of posture and chart results for reference.

Eastern World Bodyworks Methods and Techniques (An Overview)
(24 Hours)
This course will introduce the student to the different type of bodywork that is available in the Far East. It will discuss the bodies meridians, and energetic systems. A basic history and philosophy of these methods will be presented. Includes 12 Hour “Thai Yoga Massage for the Table”, presented by Michael Buck.

CPR/First Aid (8 Hours)
This will be a CPR/ First Aid Course taught by approved trainers in CPR and First Aid.

Business and Ethics (16 Hours)
This course will address the continued importance proper bookkeeping. New tax law changes will be addressed. Marketing tips and tools will be presented to the therapist to enhance their business. (10 Hours, Business)
Ethics will cover the importance of confidentiality, as well as what a therapist ethical responsibilities consist of. (6 Hours, Ethics).

Optional Exam Preparation for the National License (NCBTMB) (12 Hours)
This course will help you understand the application method using the “Candidate Portfolio Handbook”. Also it will give several sample test that resembles the National Exam. A study manual with over 500 questions and answers will help you let go of your test anxieties.
